So the day after Elisa told us that she "picked" us, Mark was driving around with his work buddies and they drove past a four wheeling store. Mark saw a kid's pink camoflouge four-wheeler. He of course stopped to inquire about it. The salesman was very happy to see him and asked if it was for his daughter. Mark said "yes." Then the salesman asked how old she was, Mark happily replied, " She is supposed to be born in October."
The salesman was a little taken aback, he smiled and said, "I think you're a little premature. Maybe you should wait a few more years."
I have to say to this saleman, "Thank you." Because if he hadn't talked Mark out of it, I'm sure we would have a pink 50cc four wheeler sitting in our garage right now! We are so excited that we can't hardly stand it!
We had dinner with Elisa and her family Saturday night. We went to Maddox and, of course, I thought it was great. I think they liked it too. I was so full, I looked like I had a "food baby." But even with that fact, I still found room for root beer float back at the house. Mmmmm....I love ice cream.

That's so funny. Mark, you are going to be a great father! I think daddies are worse at spoiling thier little girls than moms are.
ReplyDeleteMat told me this story before I saw it on your blog and I laughed so hard! It reminded me of Mat a little! For Father's Day right after kat was born, Mat got a gift card to Gart Sports. He couldn't figure out what he wanted, but as soon as he saw a kids BYU jersey, he was smitten! When he brought it home I thought he was a little crazy, but so in love with his daughter! (It was a size 5!!! She wore it last year!!! We have been waiting all this time for it to fit her! Funny!)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you guys! I am so glad that you are bonding with the birth mom and her family. It will be a nice 'extended' family as the baby gets older. Love you both and can't wait to meet the new addition to the fam!
