Catching up!

Ok, I know it's been forever! My computer still isn't uploading pics so I finally remembered to bring the SD card to my mother-in-law's house and can now upload pics. So since we last posted (in June), I have given birth to a beautiful baby boy. We named him Zacary Mark Wilson. Born October 3, 2011. Weight: 6 lbs 12 oz, Length: 19 inches. We feel so blessed to have Paityn and Zac in our lives. I am not really sure what I did in the previous life to be so blessed, but it must have been good to get the rewards I am getting now (remind me of this statement when they are teenagers!). So let's get on with the pics.
We went to the zoo a while back, and Mark took this pic. I think it's kinda cute: Mommies and Babies! We went on the elk hunt this year (yes, just before Zac was born). Paityn dumped her water bottle into her chair and decided it was way more fun to drink her water from her chair like a trough. It was pretty entertaining!
Closer pic of Paityn drinking from her "trough."
Paityn and Daddy riding on the 4 wheeler. Paityn had such a blast! It was rather difficult to get her off!
Mommy and Paityn on the 4 wheeler. (no mommy didnt' go for a ride.)
First time Paityn met Zacary Mark Wilson!
Paityn being a big helper and feeding Zac! She seems to like him so far!
Big Yawn!Mommy and Zac! What a cutie!
Paityn hanging out with Zac. She's doing pretty well with him. Actually is a very good helper!
Daddy and Zac taking a nap together!
Little man looks exhausted!
Paityn likes playing with her food!
What a mess!

Finally, a Post!

Ok, so I have tried several times to post a new post on this blog over the last month. For some reason, our desktop computer hasn't been wanting to connect with the internet (may have something to do with not actually having internet to connect with) and our laptop (complete with wireless internet) doesn't want to download any pictures. So I finally decided that I would write up a post sans pictures. (Slightly more boring, but a post nonetheless).

So, what has been happening in our little world?
Paityn is, of course, growing bigger and smarter everyday. For Easter we went to the Living Planet Aquarium where we learned that she loves to watch penguins swim around and play tag, learned that she didn't really care about the tiny little frogs that she couldn't really see, and we learned that she loves watching fish swim. That last one wasn't really a surprise. Although she loves to read books, she likes going to the library more to see the fishies than getting the books (that's actually the reason we thought she'd like to go to the Living Planet Aquarium).
After the aquarium, we went to grandma's house and did an Easter Egg hunt. She had a lot of fun and found lots of eggs with money in it. Her favorite find was the bottle of bubbles in her Easter basket, though. That girl loves bubbles!

Paityn talks non-stop now....well, at least at home. In front of strangers, or when we are first at someone's house, she is kinda shy about talking. But she turns most things into a phone and chatters away on it. She says LOTS of words now. And I will admit, that as much as I love the baby-stage it is so much easier when she can communicate to me what her needs and wants are. She has started wanting to sit on the potty. I see this as a good sign. She has yet to actually do anything in the potty, but I think that sitting on it is a pretty good start.

Mark's business is growing by leaps and bounds! I have no idea what the future holds for us but I like where it is going. He works a lot, but I think that I may finally be getting my "sugar daddy." :) I'm half-kidding. But I do like it, because we are getting to the point where I don't feel guilty if I don't work 36-40 hours in a week.

Let's see, what else is going on in our life?

Oh yeah! Have I mentioned that I'm pregnant?!?! I know, we didn't think we could either. But apparently, doctors don't know everything! I am now 20 weeks along and we are having a boy! We are pretty excited about it. Though, truth be told, I think that we are still kind of in denial about the whole thing. Everytime I go in for a doctor appointment and see a little baby in there I just can't believe it! It just goes to prove that Heavenly Father knows us WAAAAY better than we know ourselves. If we had known that there was a possibility of getting pregnant, we would never have gone the adoption route. And Paityn is, without a shadow of a doubt, supposed to be part of our family.

We are very excited about the changes that are happening in our lives right now. I can't wait to see what the future holds! Until next time (hopefully with pictures)!

2011

Holy Crap! I don' t know where the time goes! I can't believe that Paityn in now 15 1/2 months old! She is getting so big and smart! She knows where her eyes, ears, nose, mouth, knees, bellybutton, elbows, and toes are! She knows how to go up and down stairs. She says lots of words and she is willingly giving kisses...mostly to Dayzee (Dayzee isn't really thrilled with this new development. Paityn holds Dayzee's mouth tight and leans in for the kiss. Meanwhile, Dayzee just looks at us like, "Really?")
Paityn is also very hard to photograph! Almost all pictures of her end up being a blur because she moves so fast! At her 15 month check up she had only gained 2 oz because she is always on the move. Currently she is in the 5% for weight, weighing in at a whopping 19 pounds 8 ounces! She is super fun though!
Things have been going great for Mark and myself as well. I am enjoying working only 3 days a week and spending lots of time with Paityn. Mark's business is expanding by leaps and bounds! Not only do they sell and install flooring, but now they are a supply house, sell cabinets, and appliances! I am impressed with how well things are going for the business. So proud of Mark and all his hard work!

Now, on to the pictures!
Yep, she definitely knows where her nose is!

Playing a rousing game of Peek-a-Boo with a strainer, one of her favorite "toys."

She got this little baby doll before Christmas. She thought it was pretty cool, until Dayzee got a hold of it. Let's just say, we had to go buy a new doll for Paityn so they could both have a baby!

She loves to play music! The first time she saw this xylophone at the store, she wanted it so bad. So she got it for Christmas!

Christmas morning was a blast this year! Her favorite gift with this Princess couch!

She thinks she is pretty hot stuff sitting in her couch that is just her size!

This was my favorite reaction to any of the gifts she got that day. She was thrilled!

Hopefully, I will do better at updating the blog. And I hope that these pictures satisfies a bit of the need that I know some of you have. Love you all!

It's been a year!

It's hard to believe that it has been a year already since Paityn has come into our lives, but here we are! On Paityn's birthday, we celebrated with just the three of us ( well, four of us. Dayzee helped open presents too!). Then the next Sunday, we had a big family party with the cake and the whole thing.
Paityn got a new Puppy dog (Mark said she could only have a stuffed one right now) and she loves it! Unfortunately, so does Dayzee :)
She didn't care quite as much about the clothes, although she looks super adorable in those jammies.

Cake I made for the family party

Singing "Happy Birthday" to the Birthday Girl!

We had practiced blowing out candles earlier that day, but she wouldn't/couldn't do it in front of an audience. Daddy had to help her.

She was a little shy with the cake at first, but eventually warmed up to the idea :)

That was all she ate of her cake! I was surprised she didn't totally destroy it. But it was a fun day!

Here is Patyn on Halloween. She got together with some of the cousins. She was a ballerina, Bridger was Spider Man, Brielle was a Panda, Ashlyn was a vampire, and Logan was a scary Zombie guy.

I tried to get a good shot of her as a ballerina, but she moves all over the place and ALL the time. This was the best shot I could get. Most of the rest of them were just blurs.
We hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! We are looking forward to a Happy Thanksgiving and then on to Christmas (I can hardly believe it!)!

Random Pictures

I was playing with the Sepia and Black and White feature on my camera and captured these few shots.

We went to the duck pond to try and get a few interesting shots. She was totally mesmerized by the ducks and geese :)

Busy Summer!

We have been very busy this summer! Wanted to make a quick post about some of the things that have been going on. We have gone camping quite a bit this summer. Boy, oh boy! Camping is sure a different experience with a little one in tow! We sure are glad we have a trailer to keep us all warm (and a shower to keep us clean!)
Paityn would rather drink out a regular water bottle than her own sippy cup. She thinks she is BIG stuff :)

Guess who bought this shirt for her...Actually it was mommy, but it was in honor of Daddy.

She had started to try walking while we were camping....and she face planted! No real injuries, just a bruised ego, and a dirty face. Glad we have a shower to clean up in!

This is one of her, "Mom, what are you doing?" looks. She's got a million of them. And she is very good at giving them.

Paityn and Daddy riding the horsie! Really, she just sat on his lap for the picture. But it's still cool. Mark went on a ride with the boys, while the girls stayed behind at camp.

Here's our buddies Brett and Tim. Tim is doing the (Diet) Dew! I don't think he could survive without his Dew!

Paityn is getting pretty good at walking...when she wants to. She still can go faster crawling, so that is usually her preferred method of locomotion.

Here she is walking towards Mommy. She is so Big!

Getting so Big!

Paityn has been getting so big! She is now officially 10 months old! I can not believe how fast time flies. We have been really bad at getting pictures this last month (I couldn't find any batteries and kept forgetting to buy more.) We were hanging out outside today, and I took some pics. Paityn is riding Dayzee. I think we are getting her used to the idea of riding horses so she can be like her Daddy. Dayzee was surprisingly ok with this, until she saw a jogger and decided to go say "hi" to him. Dayzee has realized that Paityn might be a good thing, she frequently drops some food off the highchair to Dayzee's delight.

Paityn pushing a "walking" toy. It kind of got away from her a couple of times, but she still thought she was hot stuff.
Here she is again, strutting her stuff.

Ok, this picture isn't the greatest, but if you look real close or magnify it, you can see the three teeth she has on the bottom. She's got three on the top with another coming in too. (FYI don't stick your finger in there, she bites...hard. Mark still hasn't quite learned that lesson yet)

The walking toy can also be ridden, she likes that too. She likes anything that will help her be mobile. And boy is she mobile! She crawls all over the place and is able to pull herself up and walk along the furniture. She's getting pretty good at standing independently too. *sigh* She's getting so big!
