This has been an exciting and fun week! Saturday we had our first baby shower at Elisa's house. We got to meet her extended family and we had a really great time. Everyone was so incredibly nice and we totally felt like family. I know some of you may think that this situation would be weird, but it turned out to feel really comfortable. We have learned through this whole thing that we must really listen to the Spirit and follow what we are to do. We are so grateful to Elisa and all her family. We are so excited that they are now part of our family!
Yesterday, we had a shower from the ward. I am shocked and amazed at all the people that came and supported us in this endeavor. Thank you so much to all those who came and celebrated with me. We had so much food left over, so if anyone is hungry contact LaDawn! She has so many cookies I don't know what she is going to do with all of them.
Today we were so lucky to be able to go down to the ultrasound. We saw Paityn for the first time (well, she looked like a picture of the moon but they assured us that she was really a baby)! So there really is a baby growing in there!! Eeeeeee! I can't believe it. The midwife asked Mark if he wanted to cut the cord when she is born, you should have seen his face! It was priceless. He just said it would be up to Elisa. :D
We are so grateful to Elisa. I can't even put into words how blessed we are to have her in our lives. She is giving us the greatest gift ever! We love her so much. We hurt for her and wish that she didn't have to have any pain, but we will also do whatever we can to help her.
P.S. Only 19 days!!!!!

Elisa is an angel on Earth. I can not wait to meet her and the precious little baby that will soon be yours. I know it must seem strange to some that you are growing so close to someone in a situation that could be so strange, but I can testify to the amazing benefits of opening your heart and life to someone you barely know. (Jen and I are amazing friends and have grown so close, even though some people can't figure out how we can make it all work!) I so wish we were there to help celebrate and be there to help welcome this little life!!! I can not wait til you come down for Thanksgivng!!! I need pictures ASAP!!! Good luck! She will be here before you know it! Love you both!
